We might sometimes feel we live in an age of anxiety – that feeling upset, anxious, worried or stressed is the norm. Anxiety is a normal human reaction to stressful situations, it comes we feel threatened, or are not sure what will happen. But when anxiety negatively impacts our lives, it can have a negative effect on our ability to enjoy things, socialise, or be productive. When we experience anxiety, our heart rate increases and we breathe faster – this causes stress and overload of many other systems within our bodies.
Music has a tremendous impact on our moods. It can lift us, make us cry or soothe us. Music therapy has been used for anxiety for many years.
So we have put together a number of calming Spotify playlists for those times when you are feeling anxious, stressed or overwhelmed. Each of our playlists contains 10 songs, which gives you around 30-40 minutes of relaxing music and sounds. This is ideal for helping you relax, calm down, or drift off to sleep.
