In collaboration with Counselling Plus Community, Sussex Community Development Association provides free counseling services to East Sussex residents experiencing suicidal thoughts or who have recently attempted suicide.
The services include free counselling to residents of East Sussex who are struggling with the aftermath of suicide, specifically:
Survivors of suicide - This includes individuals who lost someone close to them through suicide.
Individuals with suicidal thoughts or recent attempts - This service aims to provide support and prevent future occurrences.
The counselling is:
Provided by qualified professionals - All counsellors are either qualified or in the later stages of their training and DBS checked.
Free of charge - The service is entirely funded by the Counselling Partnership and East Sussex County Council.
Offered in various formats - You can choose phone, video call, or in-person sessions (at locations in Newhaven, Hailsham, Lewes, and Eastbourne).
Limited to 12 sessions - Each session lasts 50 minutes, and the program typically spans 12 weeks.
It is important to note that this is not an emergency service. However, the service will be accorded as soon as possible.
